POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager Sika manufacturing plants in Philadelphia and South New Jersey area.        It will be the responsibility of the person holding this position to ensure that Sika's companies are in compliance with the requirements of OSHA Health and Safety, environmental Protections Agency, and RCRA, (Emergency Planning and Right to Know ) and state regulations. 

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Examine permits, licenses, applications, and records to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Prepare written, oral, tabular, and graphic reports summarizing requirements and regulations, including enforcement and chain of custody documentation.
  • Determine the nature of code violations and actions to be taken, and issue written notices of violation; participate in enforcement hearings as necessary.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain inspection records.
  • Verify that hazardous chemicals are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with regulations
  • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Documenting/Recording Information — Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Analyzing Data or Information — Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events — Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Ensure all employees are trained according to OSHA standards including but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Personal Protection, Respiratory Protection,                               
  • Lock-Out/Tag Out, Forklift Safety, Emergency Response training etc…
  • Record and store all training documentation
  • Perform plant safety and housekeeping inspections.
  • Maintain and distribute safety supplies.
  • Organize waste disposal pick-ups and maintain records.
  • Investigate all workplace incident/accident reports for root cause, provide corrective action, maintain OSHA 300 log.
  • Provide SDS to all staff.
  • Answers questions for customers in regard to environmental compliance.
  • Generate shipping documents for the transfer of “Hazmat” materials.
  • Act as liaison for PA State Workers Compensation, REACH, Paint Care Program,                                                                               
  • X Rite Program
  • Act as facilitator for company Safety Committee.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Required

Experience:

3 years of experience in a Manufacturing EHS role.

Computer Skills:

Must have Intermediate/Advanced computer skills.
